Im November 2025 startet eine neue Weiterbildung für Querflötenlehrerinnen und – lehrer.

Das 1. Modul findet am 31.10., 13:00-20:00 und 3.11.25, 9:00-14:00 in Aachen statt. Nach diesem Modul sind interessierte Lehrer:innen der Level 1 – 5 eingeladen, ihr Training fortzusetzen. Es steht für alle europäischen Lehrern offen.

Sarah war die erste Europäerin, die einen Abschluss in der Suzuki-Flötenmethode am Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto, Japan, machte. Sie studierte zwei Jahre lang bei Toshio Takahashi, dem Begründer der Flötenmethode.
Nach ihrer Rückkehr nach Großbritannien gründete sie ein Unterrichtsprogramm in Bristol und begann mit Hilfe anderer Suzuki-Kollegen und der BSMA, ein Lehrerausbildungsprogramm für die Suzuki-Flötenmethode ins Leben zu rufen.
Inzwischen gibt es mehrere Lehrerausbilder in Europa, die dazu beigetragen haben, mehr als 16 europäische Länder zu erreichen.
Im Laufe der Jahre hat Sarah bei vielen Workshops in Großbritannien, den USA, Australien und Neuseeland sowie in ganz Europa gegeben.
Sarah lebt in Cornwall, England, und unterrichtet zu Hause. Sie spielt in vielen lokalen Orchestern, Kammermusikgruppen und gibt Konzerte. Außerdem leitet sie einen Flötenchor für Erwachsene, von denen die meisten ehemalige Schüler sind.

Das Suzuki Flute Teacher Training wird in Übereinstimmung mit der European Suzuki Association (ESA) hybrid stattfinden. D. h. der Unterricht wird in Präsenz (ca. 4 Wochenenden) und online (Zoom) erteilt. Abhängig vom jeweiligen Level umfasst der Kurs 100 bzw. 120 Stunden und er kann innerhalb 1 – 1,5 Jahren mit einer ESA-Prüfung abschließen. Dieses 1. Modul wird der Ausbildung angerechnet und es folgen noch drei weitere Präsenztreffen.
Der Zeitpunkt und das Datum der Prüfung werden gemeinsam von der Trainerin mit den Kandidaten festgelegt. Die Prüfungsgebühr hierzu wird separat von den Kurskosten erhoben.

Der Kurs beinhaltet:

• Einblicke in die Suzuki-Philosophie und -Lehre
• Unterrichtshospitationen und Supervision von Gruppen- und Einzelunterricht
• Erlernen des Suzuki-Repertoires
• Einblicke in die kindliche Entwicklung und in das Konzept der Erziehung durch Musik

Die Kurssprache wird englisch und deutsch sein.

Zugangsvorausetzungen für Level 1: abgeschlossenen Querflöten-Studium oder ein entsprechendes Niveau
Zugangsvorausetzungen für die anderen Level:Von der ESA ausgestelltes Zertifikat des vorherigen Levels.

Die folgenden Termine und Orte in Absprache mit den Teilnehmenden.                                                                                                                                                                             💶 Kosten: 1500,- € (Prüfungsgebühr extra), kann in drei Raten gezahlt werden Die Kosten für das Training können als Weiterbildung bei der eigenen Steuererklärung angegeben werden. Am 1. und 2.11. findet parallel ein Suzuki Flute Workshop für Kinder und Jugendliche vor Ort statt. So dass man die Möglichkeit hat im Unterricht zu observieren, was Teil der Ausbildung ist.

A new training programme for flute teachers will start in November 2025.

The 1st module will take place on 31.10., 13:00-20:00 and 3.11.25, 9:00-14:00 in Aachen. After this module all interested teachers from Level 1 to 5, are welcome to continue their training. It is open to all European teachers.

Sarah was the first European to graduate in Suzuki Flute method at the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto Japan. She studied with Toshio Takahashi, the founder of the Flute method, for two years.
On her return to the UK she set up a teaching programme in Bristol and began working, with the help of other Suzuki colleagues and the BSMA, to begin a teacher training programme In Suzuki  Flute Method.
There are now several Teacher Trainers in Europe and they have helped  to reach over 16 European countries.
Over the years Sarah has taught at many workshops in the  UK,USA, Australia and New Zealand as well as across Europe.
Sarah lives in Cornwall England and teaches at home, she plays in many local orchestras, chamber groups and gives recitals . She also runs a flute choir for adults, most of whom are former students.

The Suzuki Flute Teacher Training is held in accordance with the European Suzuki Association hybrid.
This means that lessons are given in person (approx. 4 weekends) and online (Zoom). Depending on the level, the course comprises 100 or 120 hours and can be completed within 1 – 1.5 years with an ESA exam. This first module is credited towards the recommended training programme hours and is followed by a further three face-to-face meetings.
The time and date of an exam will be decided by the trainer with the candidates. Details for this will be separate from the course fee.

• Insights into the Suzuki philosophy and teachings
• Observations and supervision of group and individual lessons
• Learning the Suzuki repertoire
• Insights into child development and the concept of education through music

The course will be English and German.
Entry requirements for level 1: conservatoire degree in flute performance or an equivalent level
Entry requirements for the other levels: Certificate of the previous level issued by the ESA.

📍Location: The 1st module takes place in the orchestra rehearsal hall, D-52064 Aachen. The following dates and locations in consultation with the participants. 💶 fee: 1500,- € (exam fee not included), can be paid in three payments. The costs for the training can be declared as further training on your own tax return.
